In Huron, the World's Largest Pheasant statue stands. It is a monument to our love for South Dakota wildlife and our love for hunting.

With all the rivers and lakes that we have in the state, we actually have more shoreline than the state of Florida. It definitely comes in handy during those summer months we all love to spend on the water.
4. South Dakota has the best sunsets.
Ask anyone. South Dakota sunsets are stunning and unlike anywhere else.
5. We have great medical facilities.
South Dakota is lucky to have cutting edge medical care. Having resources like that close to home is something we take comfort and pride in.
6. South Dakota is the home state of many famous people, including Bob Barker.
Bob Barker, January Jones and Crazy Horse are just a few famous names that have roots in SD. We take pride in the accomplished and well-known folks our state is home to.
7. Many booming industries found their start in South Dakota.
A few famous South Dakota industries include: John Morrell, CitiBank, POET and Daktronics.
8. South Dakota has the best scenery.
With views like this, how could you ever want to live anywhere else?
9. We can handle any weather.
With temperatures that range from -30 wind chill to 100 degrees plus humidity, we really can handle anything.
10. We can still see the stars at night.
We love being in the middle of nowhere if it means we get to see views like this. Living in South Dakota offers views like nowhere else in the country.
