Welcome to the beautiful Good Earth State Park; a southeast South Dakota oasis that you will want to visit time and again.
Established by Gov. Dennis Daugaard in 2013, Good Earth was the first state park to be designated since 1972 and spans 615 acres of beautiful, untouched prairie.
...and colorful wildflowers galore, Good Earth State Park is chock-full of history, as the area spans one of the oldest sites of human habitation in the country!
From approximately 1300 to 1700 A.D, Oneota Tradition Peoples were said to have inhabited Good Earth State Park, thanks to its nearby rivers, protection from wind, and easy access to wildlife.
In an effort to preserve the area's history and traditions, Good Earth State Park offers a number of special events, as well as an informative Visitor's Center, making for the perfect place to learn even more about this unique part of South Dakota.
Good Earth State Park is located at 26924 480th Ave in Sioux Falls and is open May 1st through September 30 from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and October 1st through April 30th from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
