1. Christmas at the Capitol (Pierre)
When it comes to dazzling Christmas trees, there is no place better than our own capitol building in Pierre! Featuring more than 100 beautifully decorated pines, Christmas at the Capitol is sure to make even the biggest Grinch in your life a Cindy Lou Who!
2. Watertown Optimist Club Winter Wonderland (Watertown)
Running every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. from Thanksgiving to Christmas, the Watertown Winter Wonderland is South Dakota's best drive-thru light show! (Staying in my warm car on one of our frigid South Dakota nights? Count me in!)
3. Winter Wonderland at Falls Park (Sioux Falls)
If you think the Sioux Falls' Falls Park is spectacular during the summer, wait until you see it transform into a regular Winter Wonderland! Running from November 16th through January 6th (2019), the Winter Wonderland at Sioux Falls boasts 350,000+ vibrant lights, 270 decorated trees, and a whopping 25 miles of lighted rope.
4. Nora Store (Nora)
Never heard of Nora, South Dakota? Then you are missing out! Taking place in the town's National Register Of Historic Places-listed store, the Nora Store Christmas is a fun, old-time sing along that features all of your favorite carols and hymns alongside the historic pipe organ. Trust us; you do not want to miss this wonderful tradition!
5. Main Street Square Ice Skating Rink (Rapid City)
Last but not least is Rapid City's Main Street Square Ice Skating Rink, which is the perfect place to get out and stretch your legs after a long day of travel! As if skating itself wasn't reason enough to visit, the ice rink also offers a number of special events like movie screenings, dance parties, and even yoga.
