When you’re in the mood for a drink in Rapid City, you have plenty of choices. Of course, it wasn’t always that way. During Prohibition, alcohol was illegal and it was a lot harder to get a drink, but it was still possible in most parts of the country… you just had to know where the hidden speakeasies were located. Here’s a modern-day speakeasy that’s top-secret, but if you can find it, you’ll be transported right back to the 1920s.
Hidden underground, the Blind Lion is a 1920s-themed speakeasy in Rapid City that will take you right back to the era of Prohibition.
There's one important rule at Blind Lion: No cell phones allowed. If you really need to make a call, you can use the public telephone. Otherwise, enjoy actually chatting with your dining partners.
This wouldn't be a proper speakeasy without a large collection of alcohol. You can get just about any drink here - including some special hand-crafted cocktails that you won't find elsewhere.
