One of the more unfortunate facts of life is that you are guaranteed to endure awkward and uncomfortable moments every so often. When you hail from the Mount Rushmore State, however, these instances get even more weird, as demonstrated by these 11 awkward moments that every South Dakotan has endured at least once:
Yes, there is a MAJOR difference between the two, as South Dakota is larger, prettier, and has more attractions than those guys to the north! (There is no competition between us two, if you couldn't already tell.)
*Or that you live inside Mount Rushmore, depending on how far away said outsider lives.

Umm, naive out-of-stater say what?! Not only do we have Mount Rushmore, but we also have some of the kindest folks you will ever meet, plus the Badlands, Crazy Horse, Mitchell Corn Palace, Black Hills... shall I continue?

What in the name of all that is good is this monstrosity? (Apparently this is considered a hot beef sandwich elsewhere... gag.)
Umm, the Jackrabbits, I guess? Or not wasting our Sundays sitting inside watching the TV (if that counts as a team)?

Midwest nice is definitely a thing and really does seem to be confined to South Dakota and our neighboring states.
If you don't hunt, how are you supposed to catch and eat pheasants, deer, and other delicious animals? Am I right or am I right?
For the most part, South Dakotans stick with the Republican party, so it can awkward/exciting when you meet you someone with different views.
