Get Lost In This Beautiful U-Pick Sunflower Field In South Carolina

Regardless of how warm and beautiful it gets after a long, drawn-out winter, it isn’t really summer in the Palmetto State until you see a sunflower field in South Carolina painted in bright yellow blooms that instantly make you smile. Seeing that field is one thing – but stepping inside it to pick your own sunflowers is another thing entirely! Are you ready for u-pick sunflower season?

The sunflowers at Bush-N-Vine Farm in York are on the rise and are expected to mature in August this year.

And there are acres upon acres of sunflowers, too!

Bush-N-Vine is one of the oldest family-owned farms in the state. It's been in the Hall family for at least 150 years.

And the farm stand on the property is a must-visit. This open-air market sells fresh fruit and produce from Bush-N-Vine and also has a farm cafe. Be sure to take a look around when you hit the sunflower fields for the u-pick event!
The u-pick sunflower season is usually open by late August and lasts well into October.

Field planting times are usually staggered in order to extend the u-pick season. The u-pick days and times vary, but it's open to the public Monday through Saturday.

Be sure to bring along some shears for cutting.

And don't forget a tall bucket (we recommend a five-gallon bucket) so you can safely get your colorful new blooms home. Nothing beats a fresh bouquet of sunflowers to brighten up the space.
