The Twin Ponds Trail Offers Some Of The Most Breathtaking Views In South Carolina
Just outside of Landrum, South Carolina, and only a stone’s throw from the North Carolina border stands a tract of land called the Blue Wall Preserve. The preserve covers 20,000 acres along the Blue Ridge Escarpment, the dramatically falling slopes along the southernmost edges of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Overseen by the Nature Conservancy, the Blue Wall Preserve is filled with breathtaking views along the foothills and up the slopes of the mountains.
If you have yet to explore the Blue Wall Preserve, then you're not alone. It was acquired and established by the Nature Conservancy in 1997, so it's relatively new, at under 25 years old.
And even though it's located right in the throes of the Blue Ridge Escarpment, this relatively flat trail only has an elevation change of 380 feet, making it fairly easy to conquer, in spite of a few steps.
