South Carolina’s Sassafras Mountain Tower Is One Of The Best Hiking Summits For Viewing Multiple States
South Carolina’s highest mountain peak is found high atop Sassafras Mountain and the views from the summit are unbeatable. From this elevation of 3,553 feet above sea level, the tower on top of Sassafras Mountain doles out 360-degree views to anyone who hikes the few hundred yards from the parking area to the tower’s observation deck, which adds another 14 feet to the final elevation.
The tower at the summit of Sassafras Mountain is open to the public year-round from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Access is free. Learn more from this link.
If you’ve already visited the new overlook at the summit of this mountain, then let’s see some of your photos! Feel free to post ’em in the comments on Facebook!
