With so much to see and do in the Palmetto State it can be understandably difficult to decide where to take the family for a memorable experience. We’ve suggested other day trips in the past, like adventures you can have by train and a quaint beach town that’s perfect for summertime fun. But this day trip will help you discover a hidden gem that’s centrally located in Columbia. As an added bonus, it’s mostly indoors, so it won’t matter if you head here in the heat of the summer or the dead of winter. Check out all it has to offer and then plan your adventure for sometime this year.
The South Carolina State Museum is located at 301 Gervais St., Columbia, SC 29201. Their hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday from 10 a.m to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission price varies depending upon which attractions you’re planning to visit.
