Few People Know One Of The Nicest Restaurants In America Is Hiding In Small-Town South Carolina
With a population of approximately 130, Pawleys Island is one of South Carolina’s smallest and most charming towns. It’s one of the oldest summer resorts on the east coast, situated 70 miles north of Charleston and 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach. And tucked away in this tiny town just so happens to be one of the nicest restaurants in America.
Frank’s and Frank’s Outback Restaurant are located on Ocean Highway, the main road through Pawleys Island.
It’s actually two restaurants in one location with four dining venues and four bars to choose from, reputed in the area as setting the standard through the years for fine dining.
Asparagus and Shrimp Remoulade Salad featuring arugula, iceberg lettuce, and lemon garlic olive oil was another prior special offering. The restaurant menu changes seasonally and is globally-inspired.
Of course, if cheesecake isn’t your thing there are other options. Here we have fresh, warm blueberry cobbler made with sweet, local blueberries from Winyah Blueberry Farms. So yummy!

South Carolina has been home for AnneMarie since 2001. Her favorite part of the state is Lake Jocassee. An App State alumna, it's always the mountains; the lake bonus makes it heavenly. When not writing about the state, she may be spending time with family, relaxing by the pool, or out somewhere enjoying nature.
