Ketchuptown is located in the northeastern area of the state in Horry County at the intersection of Highways 23 and 99. This little country store was a popular gathering place on 1920s Saturday afternoons for the farmers in the community to "catch up."

Fish Dam is an unincorporated community in Union County. Along Highway 72, a monument has been placed to mark the site of the Fish Dam Battle Ground, where General Thomas Sumter and his camp fought against (and won) a legion led by Major James Wemyss during the American Revolution. The name Fish Dam comes from the location being by an old Indian fish dam in the Broad River.

Britton's Neck is one of the oldest settlements in Marion County, named for Francis, Timothy, Daniel, Moses, Joseph, and Philip Britton who settled in the "neck" between the Great and Little Pee Dee Rivers in the 1700s. It was a center of patriot sympathy during the American Revolution. You’ll find the marker on U.S. 378 near South Carolina Highway 908 on the left when traveling west.

You may wish to spend some time exploring Ninety Six and the towns following this one, as there is more to see and experience there, if you wish. The Ninety Six National Historic Site, for starters, protects a diverse variety of habitats which allows for a nice variety of birds to inhabit the area. This is the Male Red-bellied Woodpecker, one of seven species of woodpeckers that may be seen. There are many other things to do at this park, including seeing the monument memorializing the first Patriot killed in the South during the American Revolution. The town of Ruby in Chesterfield County is a historic town, first settled in 1875, and enjoys holding special events, including a regular Cruise-In event that all classic car fans will want to check out.
