The South Carolina Restaurant In The Middle Of Nowhere That’s So Worth The Journey
Editor’s note: On Jan. 1, 2018, Marshside Mama’s will be closing its doors. We’re very sad to lose this South Carolina gem.
When it comes to remote restaurants, you can’t get much further away from civilization in South Carolina than on an islandyou can only get to by boat. And that’s exactly where you’ll find one of the most out-of-the-way eateries in the Palmetto State.
Marshside Mama’s Cafe is located on the Southwestern side of Daufuskie Island, the next island south of Hilton Head Island, and getting there is only part of the adventure.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now: https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/nominate/
Have you heard of Marshside Mama’s? Would you take a ferry to get to this amazing eatery on Daufuskie Island? We’d love to know in our comments!
