The Insanely Fun Rafting Tour In South Carolina Everyone Will Love
Most people don’t know you can go whitewater rafting in South Carolina, but it’s true. Head over to Long Creek in western Oconee County for a fun rafting trip everyone in your group will love.
A company called 'Wildwater Rafting' has four different rafting trips you can choose from, including one that includes only Class I and Class II conditions.
To help you understand the difference, on a Class I Run you'll have easy and smooth waters with some light riffles. You'll probably find Class I is a piece of cake.
Class II steps up the game a bit, however for a novice it's still a manageable experience. In Class II conditions you'll find the water moves much faster, and you'll likely pass through some maneuverable rapids and wind through some rocky areas.
In every raft, Wildwater Rafting sends an experienced guide with plenty of knowledge about how to best maneuver the day's conditions and "read" the water.
The one nice thing about this trip, is you get to choose whether you head a little further downstream and brave a rapid called Bull Sluice. If it hasn't rained in a while you may find it's relatively calm - but it's challenging. Your guide will have a keen sense of the daily conditions on the Chattooga Section 3 as well as in the run called Bull Sluice.
This is one insanely fun beginner rafting trip everyone can enjoy. Are you brave enough to give it a go?
More information on Wildwater Rafting can be found on their official website. The trip we’ve outlined here is called their Chattooga Section 3 Trip. This trip requires a quarter-mile hike to get to the river. Rafters wil be expected to help carry the raft and only persons aged 8 and older may participate. The Section 3 trip is fully guided and no previous experience is needed. More information on the Section 3 Trip can be found at this link.
Wildwater Rafting’s South Carolina location is at 1251 State Rd S-37-14, Long Creek, South Carolina 29658. Phone: (800)451-9972.
