10 Things I would Do If I Were Queen Of South Carolina

Remember when you were little and thought about what you would do if you were King or Queen of the country or your state? What about now? What would you do if you became King or Queen of, oh, let’s say South Carolina today? I have thought of a few things that I would do. So, as Palmetto Queen here are the first 10 things I would do immediately upon settling the crown upon my head.

1. Let's start with the workday shall we? As Queen, I would make workdays 6-hour days and they would start at 10:30 a.m.

How many of us LIKE getting up at 5:30 or 6 a.m. every morning?
2. I believe we should immediately bring back payphones and roadside payphones.

Haven't you ever been in the middle of nowhere and your phone had no signal? Or, your phone was dead? I believe that these phones are still a necessity even today.
3. Repair all the roads and make sure it's done at night when there's less traffic. (An exception to Rule #1.)
Due to the high summer temperatures our roads have ridges kind of like those of potato chips and potholes in which a bulldozer would disappear.
4. Everyone would have to know the definition of "sandlapper" and how to use it in a sentence.

I have heard some things and, well, it's an important issue that needs to be addressed.
5. Myrtle Manor reruns or showings would be banned.

Really? They really made this show?
6. And, that brings us to "Southern Charm". This reality "Real Housewives" version of Charleston wouldn't even be showing.
There are already too many soap operas on television as it is.
7. Grits would have the label, "Official Food of South Carolina."

Why not? It's absolutely a great food and very versatile. And, besides, they're one of my favorite foods.
8. Every town should have at least one diner that is open 24 hours a day.

Why? Because there are times when you are driving through a bunch of tiny towns, it's late, you are starving, and there's nothing open!
9. From here on out our summer weather shall be switched with Maine's summer weather.

Impossible you say? Well, I'm Queen! And, it's ridiculously hot here in the summer. Maine's weather is much nicer...at least in the summertime that is.
10. All cars should be able to glow in the dark.

Wouldn't that be genius? No more not seeing them because they forgot to turn on their headlights and with it just might make a difference when it comes to deer collisions.
