Visiting This One Mountain Lake In South Carolina Is Like Experiencing A Dream

When most people think of heading to Table Rock State Park, the first thing that comes to mind is likely the enormous landmark that has forever loomed over the landscape along the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Byway. However, the two lakes at the state park are equally stunning. We especially like Pinnacle Lake, located on the same side of Highway 11 as is Table Rock.

Pinnacle Lake is located at Table Rock State Park. It’s open year-round. Kayak and canoe rentals are available year-round; pedal boat rentals are available from March 1 through the Sunday after Thanksgiving. The swimming area is open seasonally from 7 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is swim at your own risk. During specified times, lifeguards are on duty and you can see a the full schedule for lifeguard hours at this link. (Park admission includes swimming!) Daily park admission is $5 for those age 15 and over, $3 for ages 3 – 15, free for ages 5 and under. SC senior (65+) admission fee is $3.25. Learn more on the official website of South Carolina Parks. Learn more about the loop trail around the lake at this link!
