There are a variety of great trails in South Carolina. We’ve got wonderful wooded hikes, lake loops, and plenty more waiting for you. But there’s something special about a waterfall hike. Whether you’re looking to take a dip in a natural swimming hole to escape rising temperatures on a hot day or just want to enjoy the peace of watching the water cascading down rocks, there’s not much that can beat a day at a waterfall in the Palmetto State. One of our favorite waterfall hikes in South Carolina is the Carrick Creek Loop in Table Rock State Park. This two-mile hike will lead you straight to a gorgeous natural pool that’s fed by a waterfall you can swim under!
This is such a great trail. It stretches for 1.9 miles through the woods and loops back around to your starting point.
If you take a clockwise path, you're in for a gradual ascent that is a little less strenuous than the counterclockwise hike, which can be tough on the knees. No matter what direction you travel, you'll be treated to lovely views.
