Located just seconds off the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Byway (SC-11), Walhalla always dishes up high adventure in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Discover waterfalls, tunnels, quaint places to stay and a charming downtown to explore in this remote town that’s packed with fun.
Begun in 1856, this mammoth — and incomplete — railroad tunnel was never finished after the project ran out of funding. Today, it's operated as a park by the City of Walhalla. Bring a flashlight and explore on a self-guided tour. The park is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week.

Built in 1799, the block house at Oconee Station has much historic value to the area. Explore on foot and then head to the trailhead to Station Cove Falls — a 60-foot waterfall in the forest.

The shortest and sweetest hike in South Carolina leads to an observation deck overlooking Issaqueena Falls. The trail entrance is located next to Stumphouse Tunnel in Tunnel Park.
Hike for a mile and a half into the woods from a picnic area on the side of the road on SC-28 in Walhalla to get to this gorgeous waterfall. The 50-foot waterfall spills over stacked ledges and is worth the easy hike and the time it takes to get there.
