Everyone In South Carolina Should Take This Underappreciated Scenic Drive

One of the prettiest drives in all of South Carolina is a mere 20 miles in length but what it lacks in drive time, it more than makes up for in natural sights along the road. Found between Walhalla and the North Carolina border, the Oscar Wigington Memorial Highway winds up, over, and through the mountains and affords all who venture onto it astounding views and a wonderful connection to the great outdoors.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

The Oscar Wigington Memorial Highway Scenic Drive is also part of the longer Falling Waters Scenic Byway, which clocks in at 13 miles. Extend your scenic journey by taking them both in on the same trip! See more of the route by visiting our friends at AllTrails!
