Walk Through The Only Ocean Tunnel In South Carolina At Ripley's Aquarium

South Carolina’s only ocean tunnel provides a chance for a close encounter with creatures from the sea as you can often come face-to-face with sharks and more. Of course, we’re talking about the famously popular Dangerous Reef experience found at Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach along with a number of other key ocean-centric attractions to enjoy on your visit like the Living Gallery and the Ray Bay.

But the primo display at this Myrtle Beach aquarium is without a doubt the 340-foot tunnel that's longer than a football field and takes you on a walk under the sea.

Get close enough to count the teeth in the many sharks that live in this 180-degree tank filled with everything from tarpon, to sand tiger sharks and a goliath grouper.

The creatures swim so close you may feel as if you could reach out and touch them.

Stroll along at your own pace or get on the auto-glide to take you through automatically as you look on in wonder.

From the sawfish and it's saw-shaped nose to the giant green sea turtle and even green moray eels (and more), you'll be amazed by the sheer number of species in this oddly-shaped tank that has a tunnel through the middle for spectators.
