You’ll Love This One Awesome Activity In South Carolina And It Won’t Cost You A Cent
Over in Greenwood County there is a notable historic site of a little more than a thousand acres in size. It was the original site of the community of Ninety Six, which is credited with being the site of the first American Revolutionary War land battle in South Carolina. The event occurred in 1775.
Today this location is a National Historic Landmark - and a place where you can literally stand or walk in the footsteps of Revolutionary War soldiers.
Starting from the visitor's center you'll find various activities within the large area that makes up this historic site, also known as Old Ninety Six and Star Fort.
It's located about 60 miles south of Greenville at 1103 Hwy. 248 S, Ninety Six, SC 29666. They sometimes have seasonal closings so it's best to check the National Park Service link for this historic site - just to be sure they're open before you head that way. Admission is free.
