If you’re looking to get out of doors and breathe in some of that fresh fall scent of drying leaves, then this short hike is certain to be a real crowdpleaser to everyone in the family – even the dog. Head to the Upstate and take this short walk around Lake Placid to get up close and personal with the sights and scents of the fall season.
Paris Mountain State Park is conveniently located just minutes from Greenville. Year round, the park dishes up some of the most beautiful camping, hiking and swimming in the state.
As you admire the splendor of fall, you'll also encounter some other interesting things on this short hike, including the spillway for the reservoir. The park even has a viewing platform/bridge at the foot of the waterfall.
Kayaks and canoes are for rent on the weekends only in the spring and fall seasons. Or, you can bring you own and get another view of the fall colors from atop the lake.
In all, Paris Mountain State Park has a little more than 13 miles of trails to explore. You'll find a trail map at the Park Center located on the edge of the lake.
Make this fall the year you get out and do some things. This trail is so beautiful that experienced hikers won't mind how easy it is, and novice hikes will appreciate the mostly level terrain.
This outdoor activity pairs two things everyone loves: a nice, hikeable trail and the sights and smells of autumn. Paris Mountain State Park charges a nominal entrance fee. The address is 2401 State Park Rd., Greenville, SC 29609.
