Escape To Station Cove Falls For A Beautiful South Carolina Nature Scene
There’s just something about the sight and the sound of water that inspires a serene sense of existence. Perhaps that’s why waterfalls are among some of the top natural attractions to visit in the Palmetto State. Whatever your inspiration for hiking, the 80-foot waterfall known as Station Cove Falls near Walhalla is one you’ll likely return to again and again.
For those days where adventure is high on your radar but you're just not in the mood to hike for hours on end, head to Oconee Station State Historic Site in Oconee County and take a slow, enjoyable hike over to Station Cove Falls.
Once you're nearby, you'll begin to hear the ribbons of water cascading down the waterfall, which stands roughly eight stories high. The stair-stepped ledges add a wonderful aesthetic to the scene.
As noted, if you'd like a little more scenery to take in on the trail or to simple extend your hiking time a bit, you can head over to just behind the park office to pick up on the Oconee Station Trail, which merges with the Station Cove Falls Trail and leads onto the falls.
