This Charming General Store In South Carolina Will Make You Love The Country
You’ll score one big win for nostalgia when you pass up the Dollar General Store in Salters in favor of its neighboring store on the opposite corner of an out-of-the-way intersection on the way to the beach. This general store in South Carolina is one for the ages and has everything you need – even the stuff you don’t know you need!
Cooper's Country Store opened up way back in 1937 on the heels of the Great Depression.
The store is still on the way to the beach for many visitors from out of state. It still stocks a little bit of everything, and it's still a favorite spot for locals to check in, get some supplies, some food to go, and maybe hang for a bit.
Originally named Burrows Country Store, Coopers has the market cornered on a number of items...
Although the store isn't technically a restaurant (there are no dining tables), you can still get some of the best home-cooked BBQ around. It's made right out back. You'll also score some finger-lickin' fried chicken like Mom used to make. And don't even get us started on their whole country ham selection! But this isn't all you'll find at Cooper's.
You’ll be so glad you visited this general store in South Carolina! Cooper’s Country Store is open six days a week (every day except Sunday). Learn more with a visit to the store’s Facebook page!
