This South Carolina River Is So Remote That The Campsites Are Only Accessible By Boat
South Carolina’s longest and largest river fully contained within the borders of the state rises from springs underneath the Sandhills region. At 250 miles, it’s also the longest free-flowing blackwater river in the country. After meandering through a big part of the state, the Edisto River flows into the Atlantic at Edisto Beach.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
Are you ready to unplug and unwind on the loneliest river in South Carolina? The Edisto is perfect for a springtime adventure!
