It’s PIE time! My mom loved nothing better that a nice slice of pie and a cup of hot coffee. She passed that love down to me. Pie is just so pretty that it’s like a work of art. The beautiful, flaky, hand-rolled crust that has been crimped and fluted, laced, and cut into shapes is just marvelous to look at. The fillings can be as different and as many as there are colors in a mega box of crayons! Plus, they are so delicious… Okay. I’m making myself hungry and I have to write this article. I have found 15 places in South Carolina where you can get the best tasting, most mouth-watering pie you’ve ever had in your life! Can you say road trip time? Come on!

Pie has been on the backburner as desserts go for a long time while cakes and cupcakes have taken on a new angle. It seems to me that pie is making the comeback now as more and more bakeries are discovering the artistry of all that comes with baking something as simple and as wonderful as pie. Now, go out and get yourself a beautiful thick slice or just buy a whole one to take home. You won’t regret it.
By the way, what’s your favorite pie? I’ll let you know that my favorite is key lime and lemon meringue, and maybe apple and blackberry…okay, it’s just too hard to choose. Let us know your favorite in the comments below!
