The Audubon Swamp Garden In South Carolina Takes You Through A Lush And Enchanting Swamp
Explore a 60-acre cypress and tupelo swamp in the Lowcountry at the Audubon Swamp Garden found within Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston. The last thing you might expect to find in Charleston is a swamp garden, but this lush and enchanting swamp will wow you with its natural beauty and bright colors that never seem to wane.
The entrance to the Audubon Swamp Garden is found on the exit road from Magnolia Plantation to Highway 61, Ashley River Road. You'll need to purchase a ticket for the Plantation Gardens as well as this $8 add-on ticket to visit the Audubon Swamp Garden, too.
From a swamp covered in bright green vegetation making it appear opaque green to paths that are comprised of boardwalks, bridges, and dikes, wandering through this enchanted swamp feels a bit otherworldly.
Be sure your camera or phone is charged to the max so you can take as many photos as you'd like. You won't find another swamp garden quite like this anywhere in the country!
Parking for the swamp garden is limited. Have you ever explored the Audubon Swamp Garden at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens? If so, share your photos in our comments and then go over to our South Carolina Nature Lovers group on Facebook and share them there, too!
