Tackle A 7-Lane Snow Tubing Hill At Yawgoo Valley Ski Area In Rhode Island This Year
When it comes to winter recreation in Rhode Island, skiing and snow tubing might not be the first things that come to mind. Luckily, Rhody is home to the Yawgoo Valley Ski Area and Water Park, a year-round destination that takes advantage of both the sun and the snow. And while the opening of the snow tubing hill has been a bit delayed this season, that gives us something to look forward to in the weeks to come.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

Since its 1965 opening, it has been known as Rhode Island's only year-round destination for family fun as well as Rhody's first chairlift served ski area.

Yawgoo relies heavily on artificial snowmaking to make it all happen. Luckily, it certainly doesn't feel artificial when you're coasting downhill.

Typically, the park is open from mid-December to mid-March. However, the company website announced that opening day would likely be after New Year's Day this season.

It's tough to put a price on the amazing feeling of flying down a snow-covered hill.

Face coverings and social distancing will be required, and no groups or parties will be permitted to gather.

This is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon and get your fill of snow sports for the season.
Yawgoo Valley will announce the opening date for snow tubing soon. If you’re curious, you can give them a call or check for updates here.
