We might be a bit biased, but it’s safe to say there’s truly no ugly part of Rhode Island. Every inch of rugged territory, city, and small town in the Ocean State is eye-catching. Recently, The Culture Trip named Rhode Island’s most beautiful small towns — and while the list wasn’t meant to be in a particular order, we weren’t surprised to see Westerly on it. We think this delightful little tourist town deserves to be number one. Do you agree?

Westerly is located on the southwestern shoreline of Washington County, about 40 miles from Newport.

It's named Westerly because it's Rhode Island's westernmost town. And while that admittedly isn't very glamorous, the town itself is incredibly charming.
Westerly is a quintessential New England town, and it's a popular tourist destination in the summertime.

Equally as quaint as it is vibrant, it's no wonder so many New Englanders love it.
For a relatively small town (the population is around 23,000), there are quite a few amenities here.
