Rhode Island’s state parks have officially opened back up for the year, and for that we are thankful. Most of us are ready to get out and enjoy nature, and we just happen to be entering another camping season. If you’ve ever gone camping at Burlingame State Park, you already know the space is enormous. Social distancing won’t be a problem at this little piece of paradise.

The park was named for the State Parks Commission's longtime chair, Edwin A. Burlingame. During the 1930s, it was the primary base of operations for the Rhode Island activities of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
