Nothing Says Fall Is Here More Than A Visit To Spring Hill Sugarhouse In Rhode Island
Do you have any fall traditions? While autumn is going to be a bit different this year for obvious reasons, there are still plenty of things to look forward to. For example, Spring Hill Sugarhouse is open for business and even has a new “COVID layout” to help keep everyone safe and healthy. Here’s why you should visit this fantastic spot before winter.
You'll find Spring Hill Sugarhouse on Gardiner Road in Richmond.
And this 22-acre farm really comes alive in the fall.
Spring Hill Sugarhouse is operated by Gibby Fountain, who is well-versed in maple syrup making.
The basic process of creating syrup hasn’t changed much in several centuries, and this place's syrup is as authentic as it gets.
But even though maple syrup season is typically in spring, fall is the season to visit this place.
As soon as the leaves begin to turn, Spring Hill starts offering some tempting entertainment.
Guests can pick their own pumpkins, enjoy fresh-pressed apple cider, and even try to finish a corn maze.
This is every autumn experience you've been missing wrapped up into one pumpkin spice scented place.
Of course, that doesn't mean you should overlook the maple syrup -- it's phenomenal.
Gibby Fountain never intended to sell his syrup -- he just wanted to learn to make it. Of course, it was so popular he almost had no choice, and now he sells an abundance of it.
The delicious maple syrup is available all year, but fall magic only happens for a couple of months.
Luckily, the farm is open seven days a week, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on weekends.
If you've missed wandering through a pumpkin patch picking out your future jack-o-lanterns, rejoice.
The Spring Hill Sugarhouse accepts cash and check only, so make sure to come prepared.
