This town is located on the northern tip of the state bordering Massachusetts. With a crime rate of 9 per 1,000 residents, Burrillville is a quaint and safe place, definitely one of the best quiet towns in Rhode Island!
Bordering Connecticut is the charming town of Exeter. This small town has a population of under 7,000 people and ranks remarkably low in its annual crime rate.
With a population of over 17,000, Portsmouth is one of the larger cities on this list. The town has a ton of history and very little crime, ranking safer than 84% of U.S. cities.
Situated on Conanicut Island, the town of Jamestown boasts beautiful state parks, a stunning harbor and a fun downtown area. The violent crime rate fell far under that national average, ranking under 1 per 1,000 residents.
Violent crimes are less than 1 per every 1000 residents in Glocester. The beautiful village of Chepachet, lovely lakes, and farmland can all be found in this "safest" town. It's undoubtedly one of the best places to live in Rhode Island!

We've also got some great places for retirees looking for a peaceful place to spend their golden years. While Rhode Island is more expensive than the national average, there are still some affordable spots for those looking to save a buck. And if you're looking for a great beach town, we've got plenty of those.
What are some good restaurants in Rhode Island?
What we lack in size, we make up for in flavor! We have a lot of really great restaurants. We have a lot of really unique restaurants, including White Horse Tavern, one of the oldest eateries in the entire country! If you want a view as good as the food, check out these spots that have great window views to enjoy while you eat.
What are some good road trips in Rhode Island?
