Nothing Says Fall Is Here More Than A Visit To Rhode Island’s Charming Pumpkin Farm

It’s September and the temperatures are beginning to cool down a bit. Kick off the harvest season with a visit to this local pumpkin farm. Barden Family Orchard in Rhode Island is known for its super sweet pick-your-own berries. But did you realize they also have a pumpkin patch too? Nothing quite announces the arrival of fall like spending the afternoon picking out that perfect pumpkin.

Barden Family Orchards is a 30-acre family farm in North Scituate. Head on over between Labor Day and Halloween to visit their pumpkin patch.

The bright orange pumpkins start to appear in the field in August. They are left undisturbed until September to give them time to plump up and fill out.

After Labor Day, the patch is open to visitors. Head out to the field and cut a pumpkin right off the vine.

Search for the perfect shape and size. Find big, small, short, and tall pumpkins here.

If you'd rather take the easier route, there are pre-picked pumpkins to choose from as well.

The farm stand also has a delicious selection of apple cider. Stock up now for autumn.

Enjoy the opportunity to head out into the orchard for good old-fashioned apple picking too.

While all of this activity is buckets of fun, take a minute and soak in the beautiful scenery of the changing leaves.

The Barden Family Orchard is open for pumpkin and apple picking on weekdays from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The farm store is open one hour later each day for already picked produce.
