Seeing as Rhode Island is a largely flat state, you might think our hiking trails are all easy due to the lack of elevation gains. But the Ocean State definitely does have some hikes that are surprisingly challenging, mostly due to their length. The The Pachaug Trail, for example, spans a whopping 24 miles, although a much more manageable 7.4-mile stretch is located in Rhode Island (the rest is in Connecticut). If you’re up for a long, fun day, check it out.
