There are so many wonderful outdoor attractions that make Rhode Island a fantastic place to visit! These places are packed with fantastic options for great outdoor activities. While some might be a costly experience, others are totally free of charge.

The diverse blend of upland and wetland habitats making up Ninigret make some of the most beautiful landscapes in the state. Ninigret is also a wonderful place to visit for bird watching and fishing. Find the refuge at 50 Bend Road.

Located at the end of Beavertail Road in Jamestown is this stunning park. Spanning 153 beautiful acres on Conanicut Island in Narragansett Bay, Beavertail is a truly magical place. It is fully equipped with its own secret beaches, hiking trails, and mid-1800s lighthouse.

This 242 acre wildlife reserve is located on a gorgeous peninsula nestled between the Sakonnet River and Rhode Island Sound. Find it at 769 Sachuest Point Road in Middletown.

The charming small town of Little Compton is home to this natural wonder. Sakonnet Point is a breathtaking beach with picturesque views of the harbor and a historic lighthouse in the distance. Find it on Bluff Head Avenue.

This park offers arguably the most breathtaking view of the city! It also offers amazing hikes, a skate park, and other thrilling outdoor related activities. Find it at 700 Plainfield Street in Providence.

This stunning 3.5-mile scenic walk found in Newport is by far one of the most amazing experiences to be had in Rhode Island.

Find one of Rhode Island's largest recreational areas known as Burligame State Park in lovely Charlestown off Route 216. Be sure to also visit Kettle Pond while there!

This 14.5 mile paved rail trail goes through some of the most beautiful scenery in Rhode Island. If you're looking to spend a day outside and want to experience some of the loveliest landscapes around, this trail is just so worth it.

The shoreline of Colt State Park is a lovely place for a day in the sun. Pack a picnic, bring a frisbee, and enjoy the beauty of the state's parks! Colt State Park can be found along Route 114.

The 61.5 acres of Fort Wetherill State Park comprises a former coastal defense battery, stunning views, trails, and picnic space. Fair warning, the tunnels inside the fort are exciting to explore, but also terrifying and dark so bring a flashlight and friends. This park is located at 3 Fort Wetherill Road.

This popular Rhode Island attraction features live music, delicious food, and the magical sight of the Providence River lit up with dozens of fire pits. It's hard to believe there is no cover fee to attend!
