The Only Covered Bridge In Rhode Island Has Been Around Since 1986

Rhode Island’s bridges are what connects the state, and you’ll see them all over the place. That being said, by definition, the Ocean State actually only has one true covered bridge — and that’s pretty surprising, since historic covered bridges are scattered all over New England. But while the Swamp Meadow Bridge is the only of its kind, it certainly has staying power.

Did you know about the history of the Swamp Meadow Bridge, or that it’s technically the only covered bridge in the state? We’re always looking for fantastic places in Rhode Island to cover, both old and new. If you know of a spot you think should be on our site, tell us about it!
