Rhode Island is full of beautiful things to see and fun activities to enjoy. Whether you’re an avid hiker or someone who simply enjoys a great view from your own backyard, if you can’t find it here there’s a good chance it doesn’t exist anywhere! While there are certainly plenty of natural areas to choose from, we especially love the water. From our small, but mighty coastline to the many rivers and streams, those who enjoy a water breeze will surely love it here. The lakes dotting the landscape here are particularly beautiful. But, with so many incredible options found within our borders, it can be hard to choose a favorite. For that reason, we polled our readers on our Only In Rhode Island Facebook page. While not huge, Waterman Lake is best known for the fingers and coves that allow for some seriously fun paddling. For those who prefer not to get on the water, Steers Beach offers plenty of relaxation and views. Visit when it's warm out for swimming, but it's great any time of year.
