The Rhode Island Town In The Middle Of Nowhere That’s So Worth The Journey
Rhode Island is filled with wonderful small towns! While not a single a place can really be considered “in the middle of nowhere,” by most terms, Rhode Islanders have different standards for things considered close by. This one small town found along the Massachusetts border and running along Narragansett Bay is a perfect example.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

With a population of well under 4,000, few people expect there to be many fun things to do here, but they couldn't be more wrong.

Pictured here is Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyards found at 162 W Main Road.

It is lined with Victorian and Greek Revival era buildings, a historic congregational church and cemetery, wonderful restaurants, and more.

Goosewing beach on South Shore Road in particular is a picturesque place to relax in the sun.

There are plenty of farm stops to visit along your drive to purchase fresh produce and other great locally crafted foods.

Found at the most southern point in town, the views of the Atlantic Ocean, with a historic lighthouse painting the horizon, are unmatched.
