From corn mazes to hayrides, kids and adults will love spending some much needed time outdoors. A Rhode Island farm is the perfect place to get away from it all and celebrate autumn.
1. Clark Farms
Visit Clark Farms at Matunuck for loads of family activities. Weekend hayrides are just the beginning of what this farm offers during autumn. Find your way through the Secret Agent corn maze, launch corn out of a cannon, and visit the petting zoo. Little kids will love playing in the corn pit sifting through all the kernels. 2. Confreda Greenhouses & Farms
This long-standing 400-acre farm is a go-to destination for fall fun. Wander through the giant corn maze, jump aboard a hayride, slip down the giant slide and more. Don't forget to go on a hunt for that perfect pumpkin too. Find the farm at 2150 Scituate Ave., Hope RI 02831. Stop by on weekends from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. from September 14 - October 28.
3. Dame Farm and Orchard
A 4-acre corn maze awaits at Dame Farm and Orchard. Can you figure out how to get through? This farm also has long wagon rides through the crops and woodland for a scenic adventure. Pick up a pumpkin for carving or to make pie at this wonderful Rhody farm. Visit the farm at 91B Brown Ave.,
Johnston, RI 02919. They are open Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The farm is closed Sundays.
4. Escobar's Highland Farm
Escobar's Highland Farm has an epic 8-acre corn maze this fall. Navigate twists and turns to try to decipher the life-sized puzzle. A pumpkin patch and hayrides will also keep the family entertained. Keep an eye out for theme days like Super Hero Day or Harry Potter Day where costumes are welcome and encouraged. Visit the maze at 255 Middle Rd., and farm at 133 Middle Rd., Portsmouth, RI 02871.
5. Salisbury Farm
Established in the 1800s, Salisbury Farm knows how to dish up fall farm fun. Visit the animals or pick your own pumpkins. Try to navigate the 5-acre corn maze or take a scenic and relaxing hayride. Find Salisbury Farms at 11 Peck Hill Rd., Johnston, Rhode Island 02919. The farm is open daily from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
6. Cucumber Hill Farm
This year's corn maze theme at Cucumber Hill Farm is "It's a Jungle Out There". You might feel like you're lost in the jungle trying to find your way out. Saturday nights bring your flashlight and give it a try in the dark. Hayrides, pumpkin picking, and pony rides round out the fun at this charming farm. Visit Cucumber Hill Farm at 39 Cucumber Hill Rd., Foster, RI 02825. They are open Saturdays 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
7. Manfredi Farms
At Manfredi Farms you'll be sure to find your perfect pumpkin with choices galore. Take a hayride and then spend some time with the barnyard animals for a perfect fall afternoon. Visit the farm at 59 Dunns Corners Bradford Rd., Westerly, RI 02891. The farm welcomes visitors Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Sunday 10:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
