The Elevated Pub Food At Oxford Tavern In Rhode Island Is What We All Need Right Now
Providence’s food scene is second to none, and we can’t wait to enjoy it to the fullest one again. In the meantime, we’d like to shine a spotlight on a restaurant that has been serving many a Rhode Islander what can only be described as elevated pub food for the better part of a decade. If you’ve ever dined at the beloved Oxford Tavern, you know exactly what that means.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

But much like judging a book by its cover, it would be a shame to judge this eatery by its exterior.

This is typically a local gathering spot from Wednesday - Saturday.

When you're seated at your table, your server will bring you a water glass filled with crispy fried spaghetti in lieu of breadsticks. It only gets better from there.

And thanks to the open kitchen, you can watch your meal being prepared if you'd like.

And when it comes to deciding what to order, it's safe to say you can't go wrong.

In fact, the two groups might end up sharing some appetizers.

If you live in the Providence area, you're lucky indeed -- you can enjoy a mouthwatering meal at your own table cooked by some of the best chefs in the city.
The Oxford Tavern’s temporary hours are 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday. See their current specials on their Facebook page.
