Visit The Oldest Beach In Rhode Island For A Day Of Timeless Fun
One of the many perks of Rhode Island life is its close proximity to so many white sandy beaches. And if it’s been awhile since you’ve spent time at Easton’s Beach, pay it a visit as soon as possible. Not only is it a beautiful place to spend the day, it’s brimming with local history.
This 3/4 mile long surf beach is a total treasure.
In the 1920s, the area was well equipped with all the beach town amenities. But sadly, it was all wiped away by a hurricane in 1938.
Not only is it Newport's largest public ocean surf beach, it's a perfect place for some good old-fashioned oceanside lounging.
There are several great eateries in the area as well as the infamous Cliff Walk. The rental shop, Rosie's Beach Store, has boogie boards, beach chairs, and anything else you may have forgotten.
Go during the week, early in the day, and you just might have long stretches of sand to yourself.
And there's still plenty of summer left to soak up the sun here.
