Play With Llamas At Dandy Acres Llamas In Rhode Island
Whether or not you consider yourself an animal lover, you have to admit llamas are in a league of their own. Goofy, quirky, and downright adorable, these creatures are often friendly and fun to hang out with. Dandy Acres Llama Farm in Glocester is currently offering farm visits for those curious about life with llamas.
Dandy Acres Llama Farm is located at 1486 Snake Hill Road in Glocester, where llamas have been enjoying life since 2005.
The 83-acre farm is operated by Brenda and Ralph, whose love of llamas compelled them to buy the farm 16 years ago.
Llamas are multi-purpose animals, more than just a pretty face.
They help produce fantastic wool, they make wonderful guard animals, and they're endlessly entertaining.
These sweet creatures are actually very social, so llama farms are often the best places for them to live since they interact in herds.
And when they are well-socialized with humans, they're very easy to handle.
In the past, Brenda and Ralph would take llamas to schools, daycares, assisted living facilities, birthday parties, and any event that needed a little boost.
But due to Covid-19, they aren't currently doing any visits off the farm.
Fortunately, farm visits are still available at Dandy Acres Llama Farm.
Just give the farm a call and schedule a visit so you can meet the llamas.
There are currently 24 llamas at the farm, a far cry from the single baby female llama who lived here in 2005.
In the spring, Brenda and Ralph do some serious shearing. They hope to be able to sell llama products soon.
