The Beautiful Rhode Island Park That's Surrounded By Water On Three Sides
By Megan Shute|Published March 22, 2019
With more than 10 years of experience as a professional writer, Megan holds a degree in Mass Media from her home state of Minnesota. After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
Despite its small size, Rhode Island is home to a whopping fifteen state parks as well as seven state beaches and five other public use lands managed by the Division of Parks and Recreation. And while we love all of these stunning state parks as much as the last, we’re particularly drawn to this gem that is surrounded on three sides by water. If this spot hasn’t made it onto your spring bucket list yet, what are you waiting for?
Colt State Park is located at Route 114, Bristol, RI 02809, and is open daily from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information about this slice of paradise, you can visit the Rhode Island Division of Parks and Recreation website.
