Rhode Island Has A Picture Perfect Paradise Island And You’ll Want To Visit
The smallest state doesn’t always have it easy. Not only does Rhode Island often get a bad rap, sometimes it’s overlooked entirely. What some people don’t realize is that the Ocean State is filled with gorgeous attractions ranging from nature sites, amazing restaurants, and more. While the name can be misleading and Rhode Island isn’t actually an island (though it was when first established on what is know Aquidneck Island), there are quite a few islands off the coast. Most would agree that one tends to stand out amongst the rest.

The beautiful island paradise known as Block Island is located just 13 miles off the coast of Rhode Island.

Accessible by ferry, traveling across the Block Island Sound is no dull voyage as it's rich in gorgeous views of the Atlantic.

First inhabited by the Narragansett Indians, the island was named after the dutch explorer Adrean Block who discovered it in 1614.

Today, Block Island continues to be a popular New England summer destination due to its natural beauty and fun attractions. The town of New England comprises most of the land and contains most popular offerings and town center.

Exciting offerings range from gorgeous beaches and trails, amazing restaurants, fun annual festivals, and even a world renowned nature reserve.

The Mohegan Bluffs, 150 foot granite cliffs, are also found on the island. Located at the base of this magical place is a secluded beach that should not be missed.

Two historic lighthouses reside on the island. Southeast Light, pictured here, is often referred to as the most beautiful lighthouse in the nation for its stunning design.
