The Amazing Black Point Trail In Rhode Island Takes You To An Abandoned Mansion

Carve out about an hour or so, more if you like taking your time, for a stroll along the breathtaking Black Point Trail in Rhode Island. We all know how absolutely beautiful Rhode Island is, and this picturesque path offers some of the best scenic beauty in the state. Meander along a tree-lined path, next to the ocean, and to the remnants of a once majestic mansion. This Rhode Island trail offers a little bit of everything.

Drenched in natural beauty, the Black Point Trail meanders 2.1 miles along Scarborough North State Beach.

It's considered an easy trek, pretty much a stroll on the beach. However, wear sturdy shoes if you want to walk on the rocks along the shore.

The wind sometimes kicks up, so be prepared for that on this trail that's popular in every season.

Hikers praise the trail as it's often quiet, providing solitude among nature. However, many also complain about the litter left along the trail.

Remember to bring out whatever you take with you, and be sure to pick up after your pooch on this dog-friendly trail.

One of the highlights of this scenic trail is, hands down, the ruins of a mansion. Once upon a time, in the late 1800s, the mansion was the summer retreat of the Davis family.

Today, you can wander around the ruins, imagining what it must have been like during its heyday.

The trail is predominately flat and promises stunning views of the water. You definitely don't want to forget your camera.
