Rhode Island is a gorgeous state with so many lovely sites to take in. Though traffic leaves something to be desired, there are a few routes that still offer lovely scenic rides. The next time you want to explore the best of Rhode Island by car, check out these five routes.

Scenic Route 1A is as picturesque as can be. Enjoy some of the most beautiful sites in Rhode Island from beaches and boardwalks, to harbors, and more.

Enjoy the beautiful historic farms, lovely forests, and other attractions along Putnam Pike, also known as Route 44, in northern Rhode Island.

Route 102 is a 44 mile stretch of State Highway beginning in the historic village of Wickford and ending in the western part of the state. As one of the longer stretches of road in state, this route passes through beautiful recreation areas and sprawling forests.

This State Highway runs through the center of the wonderful town of Charlestown and passes through beautiful parks, and recreational areas.
