These 6 Rhode Island Lakes Are Perfect For A Day Of Fun In The Sun

While this has been a very strange summer for most Rhode Islanders, we’re still enjoying the sunny season, especially when we get the chance to get out and explore our own beautiful backyard. And while spending the day at the beach watching the waves roll toward the shore never gets old, our state also has plenty of natural lakes, man-made lakes, and coastal lagoons to explore. These are some of our favorite spots for a summer lake day.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

Spend some time at one or two of our beautiful lakes this summer. They tend to be less crowded than our ocean beaches, and they’re a lot of fun.
