Travel hasn’t been easy over the past year, but at least we can say we’ve had ample opportunity to explore our own backyard. The next time you find yourself with a free afternoon, spend some time in one of our small but mighty spots and you’ll fall in love with Rhody all over again. These are a few of our favorites.
Hope Valley is a little village you'll find n the town of Hopkinton in Washington County. Delightfully rural and perfectly peaceful, this historic area will steal your heart. The most popular Hope Valley destination is Festival Farm, a family-friendly all-season farm and country store.
It's easy to see why so many celebrities have fallen in love with Watch Hill. This affluent coastal village sits at the most-southwestern point of the state, and it's a beach lover's dream. Summers are definitely popular here, but we happen to think there's nothing like a quiet sunset walk at Watch Hill Beach in the off season.
Exeter extends east from the Connecticut border to the town of North Kingstown. Known mainly for Yawgoo Valley Ski Area & Water Park, there are several other area attractions worthy of checking out. It's also home to Tilted Barn Brewery, Rhode Island's original farm brewery.
We're perpetually smitten with Wickford Village. This decidedly New England town is constantly being called Rhode Island's best kept secret. The secret is certainly out among Rhode Islanders, especially those who enjoy shopping.
Located in Newport County, Little Compton is undeniably charming. Full of pristine beaches, beautiful vineyards and friendly people, it's always worth paying a visit.
