The Hat Museum

Although this museum is no longer open to the general public (private group tours are given to select interest groups by reservation only, call for details), this extravagant collection of hats is the largest in the country! Owner, author, and hat-maker (properly called a milliner) Alyce Cornyn-Selby renovated a historical home, built in 1910, to showcase a collection of over 1,000 hats that features antique headpieces from 1837, characteristic styles from all eras, and even wild costume hats that you never dreamed existed! If you are not in the “business” of fashion and costuming, you can still check out the website for some unique and unusual hat history, or visit the online sales shop (offered via Etsy).
