It may not look like much from the outside—it is housed inside an old brick boiler room of a cotton gin facility that burned down in 1922—but from the inside, you will see why the Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar is a true hidden gem! Built in the hills overlooking the Guadalupe River, this secret getaway offers some excellent food and even better views! The restaurant opened up in 1977 and serves up delicious Southern dishes and desserts. The Gristmill made it onto the National Register of Historic Places, and today offers a unique getaway often visited by famous celebrities, politicians, and musicians—maybe you will see a star while enjoying your meal?
