Serving up a variety of coffees, teas, pastries, soups, salads and sandwiches, Magpie Cafe, located in Baton Rouge, is all about community.
Coffee drinks are made in line with the tradition of Italian espresso making, but also utilizing aspects of the progressive “slow bar” single cup brewing methods currently popular in Portland and Seattle.
This local cafe serves up delicious foods made with seasonal ingredients purchased from local farmers, dairies and break artisans. They strive to use organic ingredients, though when that is not necessarily possible, all-natural ingredients are used instead.
The atmosphere is welcoming, cozy and homey – almost as if you’ve stepped into your grandma’s house, if your grandma had a rad sense of style, that is.
